ARTWORK INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL WORLD

Welcome to my website, I hope you will enjoy my art.  Much of my artwork develops from my interest in the natural world.  The colours, patterns and textures in landscapes are the starting points for my work.  Experimental work, sketches and photographs gathered in my notebooks are used for development of final images.  More figurative work results from my long-term interest in watching birds.  I use a variety of media, including acrylic, gouache, oil pastel, collage, ink, watercolour and charcoal.  Experimenting with combinations of different media allows for the unexpected, which may be incorporated into the final image.  In this way, images develop organically until I judge them to be complete.
